Ted Terrebone, skateboard photographer.
Ted found his love for skateboarding in the 60’s, in the days of steel wheels. Despite the activity being less than popular at the time, and taking some social hits for it, he pushed forward, finding his people and developing his life long love for the sport.
During Skateboarder Magazine’s revival in the 70’s, Ted became interested in shooting skateboarding. His efforts went unrewarded until he moved to San Fransisco in the late 70’s. Being in the right place at the right time allowed Ted to grow his skills, and his name.
Ted experimented with light and angles, using multiple flashes and fish-eye lenses. His techniques went on to become common practice, and many of the names he shot went on to become icons in the industry; such as Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero,…. And others.
